What are the advantages of a proximity
card compared to a magnetic card or a barcode card?
The proximity card or key ring tag is read without making contact, i.e.
from a distance of 5 à
10cm. Consequently this card is not sensible to dirt, moisture, scratches,
etc. The proximity badges or tags are very userfriendly, considering the fact
that they are being read by bringing them close to the cardreader. The energy
sent by the cardreader is received and the cards send their internal code
which is read by the cardreader. The magnetic card or barcode card on the
other hand have their coding on the surface of the card. This implies that
the card can become useless by a minor scratch or a finger print on the magnetic
strip of the card. Registration of data on a magnetic card can only happen
by passing the card through the (magnetic) card reader; a barcode
has to be given carefully to a barcode reader. Consequently both systems
are less userfriendly . The registration process is slower.
What is the difference between a proximity tag and a
proximity card?
A proximity card has standard credit card dimensions, i.e. 86 / 54 mm.
A proximity keyring tag is used as a key ring. The tag is circular, has a diameter of
40 mm, a thickness of 5 mm, and has an eye for fixation to a bunch of keys.
As the key ring tag is made from hard plastic, it is very stong and even unbreakable .
The proximity card, just like a credit card is made from PVC and thus is more sensitive for scratches and high
temperatures.
Can a badgeterminal be connected through the existing ethernet
network?
The badgeterminals of the series EM300 / EM400/ EM3300 can indeed be connected
to the existing ethernet network through an ethernet box or TCP/IP unit.
For the badgeterminals of the series EM300 an TCP/IP unit can be built
in; for the devices of the series EM400 or EM3300 we offer an external
box which has to be placed close to the badgeterminals.
Do you need a keyboard with a clock
for time registration?
A keyboard is used on a clock for time registration in order to input the internal service codes. Doing so
the employee has (by means of specific codes) the possibility to give certain messages to the
personnel department eg. Why he has stopped working earlier or why he badged late. We offer
badge terminals with a touch screen, or with a complete alphanumeric
keyboard.
All data have been calculated and I have the plannings.
I have taken the right selection on employees and dates, but still not all information is available in
the salary transfer: some codes seem to be missing.
Verify whether all salary codes have a conversion code. Codes without conversion
codes will never be included in the salary transferfile.
You can set the conversion codes via File - Timeregistration - General Codes. The conversion codes
are in the column SD.
I have carried out the salary transfer in Certo,
but I still have to make some corrections. Do I need to change the transfer file?
You can carry out the transfer file as many times as you like. If you notice that you need to make corrections, and you did not read in the data yet into the file meant for the payroll agency,
, than you can just carry out the salary transfer again. The old data will be overwritten.
However, if you did already read in the data for the payroll agency, You better first contact your agency.
They can tell you whether the transfer can be read in more than one time.
TWhen reading the clocks I get the error message: "no reply from the communication-pc".
You work with a multi-user version of Certo. In this case several users can work at the same time in Certo.
However, there is only éé pc connected with the clock(s) and/or modem. This is the communication-pc on which the communication server has to be active. When the
other users want to read clocks, this will always happen through the communication-pc.
When this error appears, this could be the result of the following:
- The communication-pc is not switched on: switch on the communication-pc and start up Certo.
- Certo is not active on the communication-pc: start up Certo.
- Certo is being started up, but the communication server is not active: activate the communication-server on the communication-pc
via het menuitem System - Configuration - Communication.
One of the employees has lost his badge, what now?
Do you still have any spare badges? Than there is no problem. Go to the employee-screen
(File - employees/users) and give the employee a new badge. As soon as the information
is being sent to the clocks, the old badge will not allow any entrance any longer. The registrations
will automatically be appointed to the right employee.
